another proud mommy moment

I had a proud mommy moment this week with Sanora. I went Wednesday to Sanora's school to help out around the class and what not. It was Library day so I went with them to the library, Sienna and I got to sit with Sanora while the teacher read them a story. When it was time for them to pick a book and line up, right away Sanora read the title of her book "The bookstore dog" and she told her friends the title, they didn't believe her right away, so I confirmed that it was the title. All the kids around her then excitedly asked her to read the titles of their books, and would then look at me to confirm. I would just node my head and the kids would all go "WOW". After Library was a school concert which I also attended with Sanora, While we where sitting waiting for the school band to start her teacher told me that at reading time the kids all sit down with sanora and she reads all of the other kids stories. My chest probably inflated about 10 times (ya right eh ;)) with pride. That evening I pulled out the Hooked on Phonics and she was able to go through a few pages of level 4 with little problems. I love how she's so excited by reading.

Sienna's Birthday

Already my little girls has turned one. Where has the time gone? We had a few people over for a dinner, and Bryan made amazing salmon. I originally thought I would be making the dinner and was a little nervous as I have never cooked for a group before. I did most of the prep, then Bryan came home and took over as usual. I warned Sanora ahead of time that Sienna will be getting allot of attention, but in the end Sanora was having to much fun playing with the other kids to even care. I'm so glad that she had fun. I was so anxious of people coming over and dinner that Sienna hadn't really napped. Poor Sienna was so tired and cranky before we even got to the cake and presents. When I put her to bed she was out before I even left the room. Sienna got so many nice things from everyone, it was so sweet. Lots of beautiful clothes which was great, and it was Bryan and I that got the toys. Tara and Donovan also got Sienna a cabbage patch doll. Sienna loves it and carries it around with her all the time hugging it and giving it kisses. My little girl is so affectionate, always giving hugs and kisses to Sanora and her mom and dad. Last night I got a text from Bryan that Sienna bit Sanora's nose. I guess Sanora started to cry, then Bryan started laughing so hard Sanora started laughing to. Thank you to everyone that made Sienna's birthday special, and thank you to those you made Sienna's first year special.
